My name is Laxman Maharjan, and I’m from Kathmandu. I was part of the 2017 batch and graduated in 2022 with a degree in Computer Engineering. During my final semester, I had the opportunity to participate in a Winter Code Camp at Info Developers, where I expanded my practical skills. After completing my studies, I began my career as a Software Engineer at RippeyAI, where I’ve had the privilege of contributing to the design, development, and enhancement of backend systems for AI-driven solutions. Although Khwopa College of Engineering was far from my home in Kathmandu, the solid foundation I received in engineering and computer science made the journey worthwhile. Khwopa goes beyond just the course structure, offering additional training, workshops, and boot camps. A confused, clueless and teenage high school graduate landed at Khwopa in 2012 as an undergraduate university student. The girl from streets of Biratnagar had entered the capital city with big dreams, Khwopa taught her dream even bigger. I don’t know how far she will go, but for sure the acceleration started from Khwopa!! And today, the same girl sits down to write a memo for alumni page and dwells back to her days in Khwopa. The nurturing environment, quality education, supportive faculties and well-equipped laboratories I got as a student in KhCE had greatly quenched my thirst of curiosity back then. After an unsuccessful attempt to land on scholarship to study medicine (MBBS) in Nepal, I set my sight to peruse engineering - Electrical Engineering as I'm always passionate about electricity & magnetism from my childhood. For me, it was a no brainer to choose KhCE among all the other engineering colleges in Nepal due to its proximity (and I'm also native to 'khwopa' -Bhaktapur in Nepal bhasa), affordability, discipline and, most importantly, quality education.
