Khwopa Alumni

Dear Alumni and Students,

My name is Laxman Maharjan, and I’m from Kathmandu. I was part of the 2017 batch and graduated in 2022 with a degree in Computer Engineering. During my final semester, I had the opportunity to participate in a Winter Code Camp at Info Developers, where I expanded my practical skills. After completing my studies, I began my career as a Software Engineer at RippeyAI, where I’ve had the privilege of contributing to the design, development, and enhancement of backend systems for AI-driven solutions.

Although Khwopa College of Engineering was far from my home in Kathmandu, the solid foundation I received in engineering and computer science made the journey worthwhile. Khwopa goes beyond just the course structure, offering additional training, workshops, and boot camps. Khwopa hosts various events and conferences that broadened my perspective and were immensely helpful for my personal and professional growth.

One of the most remarkable experiences I had at Khwopa was building friendships with people from all across the country. Coming from Kathmandu, I hadn’t had much exposure to friends from outside the valley, but Khwopa helped me connect with them, understand their cultures, and appreciate different mindsets. Interestingly, we were the first batch of Computer Engineering at Khwopa College of Engineering, which helped create a strong bond with our teachers. The life lessons they imparted remain with me to this day and continue to guide me both personally and professionally. These connections and experiences have shaped my thinking, particularly around giving back to society.

To the current students, my advice is simple: stay curious, keep learning, and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone.
