The delegation, led by the esteemed Li Ning, Director of the Standing Committee of the House of People's Representatives of Yichun City, visited Khwopa Engineering College and Khwopa College of Engineering on 15th Jestha 2081. They were warmly welcomed by Mr. Sunil Prajapati, Chairman of the College Management Committee, along with Ar. Rajani Joshi, Vice Chairman of the College Management Committee, CMC member Mr. Rabindra Jyakhwo, and Principal Er. Sunil Duwal.
In his welcome address, Mr. Prajapati reiterated Nepal's support for the One China policy and expressed hope that the relationship between the Nepali and Chinese people will continue to strengthen. He emphasized that Bhaktapur is a city of great cultural, historical, and archaeological significance and expressed gratitude for the Chinese government's support and assistance during various calamities in Nepal.
Mr. Prajapati also highlighted that 100 percent of NWPP's representatives were elected in Bhaktapur Municipality, which is politically divided into ten wards. He noted that the municipality's development efforts are guided by the book "Bhaktapur After a Century" by Narayanman Bijukchen (Rohit), Chairman of the Nepal Workers and Peasants' Party. Furthermore, he mentioned that Bhaktapur is an important city from a tourism perspective, attracting around 250,000 foreign tourists annually.
At the same time, Li Ning, Director of the People's Representative Assembly Standing Committee of Yichun City, remarked that the friendship between Nepal and China is growing stronger. He praised Bhaktapur for its cultural richness, the simplicity of its people, efficient management, heritage protection, and overall development. Director Ning expressed positivity towards establishing friendly relations between Bhaktapur and Yichun City.
Director Ning described Yichun as a resource-rich city in the southern part of China, known for its production of paddy, herbs, tea, and various vegetables. He highlighted that Yichun is well-connected, with six railways and ten highways crossing the city. He mentioned the potential for exchanging technical support between Bhaktapur and Yichun in the fields of education, agriculture, industry, tourism, and culture, and showed interest in sharing rice cultivation technology with Bhaktapur.
During the meeting, Principal Er. Sunil Duwal presented a brief description of Khwopa Engineering College and Khwopa College of Engineering.
During the meeting, Li Ning was accompanied by several key representatives: Pao Chunyan, Secretary General of the Standing Committee of the House of People's Representatives; Chang Chaoxin, Member of the Standing Committee of the House of People's Representatives of Fengchang City; Fu Yahong, Member of the Standing Committee of the House of People's Representatives of Changshu City; Yu Chun, Head of the People's Government of Fengxin County; and Chao Shangshang, fifth-level staff at Yichun Municipal People's Hospital.
Mayor Prajapati handed over various publications of the municipality, including "Bhaktapur After 100 Years," and presented a replica of the famous peacock window as a gift.
