To provide practical insights into the manufacturing process of civil engineering materials, a field visit was arranged for the students of Civil Engineering currently studying "Civil Engineering Materials". The one-day field visit commenced on the 4th of April under the supervision of faculties Er. Sunita Kharbuja, Er. Upu Rasiya Lasiwa, Ms. Rashmi Koju, Er. Radhika Kharbuja, and Er. Bikesh Khatri.
The field visit was organized with the primary aim of leading our students from the source of materials, and production used in construction works. The team visited the production site of Gorkha Red Bricks, Basdol, Panauti. Owing to the cooperation of project Director Er. Rajan Duwal and project Coordinator Mr. Raji Koju and the Team, students got the chance to get information about the salient features of the project. They observed the ongoing production process of the Chinese Bricks.
Similarly, With the cooperation of the plywood center in-charge Mr. Sagar provided the information about the manufacturing process of plywood from timber logs with their proper mechanisms, along with the process of proper natural air seasoning of timber.
The information shared by the technical personnel of the respective projects to the students, provided valuable insights into the operation of construction materials and the field visit proved to be a valuable learning curve to our students.
