Students from the 6th semester of the BE Electrical Engineering, Batch 2077, undertook an educational tour of hydropower generation and electrical infrastructure. The tour was conducted from 2080/10/23 to 2080/10/26 which included field visit at Middle Marsyandgi Hydropower Station, Lamjung, Lower Marsyangdi hydropower station, Tanahu, Pokhara Industrial Estate and Pokhara Grid Substation, Lekhnath, Pokhara. Students had opportunities to explore the Hydro-power powerhouse and dam site. They also received instruction on various components utilized in powerhouses and switchyards, deepening their comprehension of the equipment utilized in hydropower generation. Furthermore, at the Pokhara Grid Substation, students were introduced to various switchgear and protection systems utilized in the grid substation. This segment of the tour provided them with practical knowledge about the crucial role of these systems in ensuring the efficient distribution and safety of electrical power.
Overall, this educational tour provided students with a comprehensive understanding of hydropower generation, industrial processes, and grid infrastructure, bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications in the field of electrical engineering.
