Chin Lukao, the Chinese Director of the TU Confucius Institute, visited Khwopa Engineering College and Khwopa College of Engineering on Monday, Falgun 15, 2079. The college principals, Er. Sujan Maka and Er. Sunil Duwal, gave him a warm welcome. Along with Chinese language teacher Wang Yunhe_ and Chinese language instructor Rajendra Chawal, they observed different areas within the colleges and discussed various topics related to engineering education and intellectualization of society.

Principals Duwal and Maka briefly explained how these colleges provide quality engineering education to students across the country at an affordable fee, and Director Lukao showed enthusiasm for advancing the teaching of the Chinese language in Bhaktapur. He expressed happiness that Bhaktapur Municipality has made higher education easily accessible to the general public and is regularly conducting Chinese language classes.

Director Lukao also shared that the Confucius Institute has recently been established at Tribhuvan University, where the teaching and learning of the Chinese language have started. He mentioned that they had started teaching the Chinese language in two public schools besides Kirtipur and had prepared teachers for Chinese language training.

The discussion highlighted the progress made by the colleges operated by the Bhaktapur Municipality, and Principal Er. Sujan Maka gifted college publications to Director Lukao and the team. It was a great opportunity for both sides to share their experiences and ideas, and the visit is expected to further strengthen the relationship between the two institutions.
