The Department of Electrical Engineering at Khwopa College of Engineering organized an insightful guest lecture on “Control System and Its Applications” on July 13, 2025, for students of BEL 2080 (Second Year, Second Part) and BEL 2079 (Third Year, First Part). The lecture was delivered by Er. Sharamnsha Bhandari, Deputy Manager at the Aerodrome Safety Standards Department, Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal.
With a strong background in electrical and control systems engineering and practical experience in aviation safety, Er. Bhandari shared valuable insights into the real-world application of control theory in civil aviation. He discussed both theoretical and practical aspects, including instrumentation, current technological trends, and the use of PID controllers through a case study involving temperature and water-level control models. Er. Bhandari emphasized the importance of precision, redundancy, and reliability in control system design, particularly in safety-critical applications. Students actively participated, asking thoughtful questions on sensor integration, fail-safe mechanisms, and energy-efficient system optimization.
The lecture effectively bridged classroom learning with practical applications, inspiring students to explore careers in automation and safety engineering. It aligned with the department’s commitment to nurturing technically competent, socially responsible, and economically aware graduates.
