On 16th Asar 2082 (30th June 2025), the Department of Electrical Engineering organized a guest lecture, “Condition Monitoring of Electrical Machines,” for BEL 2079 (Third Year) and BEL 2080 (Second Year) students. Dr. Bishal Silwal, Assistant Professor at Pulchowk Campus, Institute of Engineering, led the session, sharing his expertise in smart maintenance, machine diagnostics, and real-time monitoring systems.
Dr. Silwal addressed key topics, including vibration analysis, thermal and current signature monitoring, insulation testing, IoT sensor integration, and the application of AI in fault detection. He highlighted the shift from traditional to predictive maintenance, discussing real-world applications and student projects. The interactive Q&A covered industrial automation, AI applications, and career prospects.
The event reinforced the department’s commitment to integrating theory with practice, developing technical proficiency, and preparing students for the contemporary engineering challenges they will face.
