Motorable Local Roads Bridge Program (MLRBP-IV) organized a two-day Knowledge Dissemination Seminar and Exhibition on 24th and 25th June 2025. The event commenced on June 24th at 8:30 AM with the registration of participants, followed by a seminar session focused on sharing insights and experiences related to bridge design and construction under the program.

During the seminar, three technical presentations were delivered by Er. Sakil Manandhar, Team Leader of LRBSU, and Er. Rajan Manandhar:

1. Impact of Unpredictable Floods on Bridge Structures
   This presentation discussed the effects of extreme flood events on bridge safety and performance, focusing on three case studies: Jhumsa Khola Bridge, Sirke Dovan Bridge, and Chuhar Khola Bridge.
2. Design of Steel Truss Bridges: A Comparative Overview of Working Stress Method and Limit State Method
   The session emphasized the conceptual and analytical differences between the traditional Working Stress Method and the modern Limit State Method in the context of steel truss bridge design.
3. Code of Practice for Limit State Design of Foundations and Soil Investigations
   This presentation highlighted the essential requirements for geotechnical investigation and foundation design under the Limit State Design approach, with a focus on field practices and compliance with current standards.

Each presentation was followed by an interactive question-and-answer session, during which participants from diverse sectors raised insightful questions, all of which were effectively addressed by the speakers.

Following the seminar, H.E. Danielle Meuwly, Ambassador of Switzerland to Nepal, officially inaugurated the exhibition, which was open from June 24th to 25th, 2025. The exhibition showcased various aspects of bridge planning, design, construction, and quality control practices carried out under the MLRBP-IV initiative.

From Khwopa College of Engineering, Er. Aanand Kumar Mishra attended the event, contributing to the academic–industry exchange and gaining valuable exposure to current bridge engineering practices in Nepal.
