On 22nd June 2025, the Department of Electrical Engineering welcomed Er. Phurba Tshering Sherpa, Research Assistant at Kathmandu University’s Grid Modernization Lab, for a session with fourth-year BEL 2078 students. He shared his academic and research journey, highlighting the value of hands-on learning, internships, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Er. Sherpa discussed the importance of power systems, smart grids, and renewable energy, and outlined challenges in Nepal’s power sector. He encouraged students to engage in thesis projects and workshops, and provided practical advice on career planning, graduate studies, and research opportunities.
The session was inspiring and practical, helping students envision their future paths in energy, automation, and sustainable technology. This event is part of ongoing efforts to connect classroom learning with real-world research and industry experience.
