Khwopa College of Engineering (KhCE) participated in the draft report presentation workshop titled “Energy Audit in Residential and Commercial Sectors,” organized by the Water and Energy Commission Secretariat (WECS), Nepal. The event, held on 11th June 2025 at Royal Singhi Hotel, Kathmandu, was hosted by Multiscale–Green Innovation Joint Venture (JV) and brought together professionals, policymakers, and academic representatives to promote energy efficiency and sustainable practices across Nepal’s infrastructure.
A major highlight of the workshop was the formal submission of the draft energy audit report of KhCE. The report, which assesses the college’s energy consumption and recommends efficiency improvements, was received by Er. Rakesh Gwachha, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering. KhCE was among 100 commercial and 300 residential buildings audited as part of the national initiative.
The workshop was inaugurated by WECS Secretary Dinanath Mishra, with a welcome note by Joint Secretary Tikaram Baral, who emphasized the importance of energy auditing in achieving sustainability goals. Presentations were delivered by Dr. Santosh Prasad Adhikari (Green Innovation) and Associate Professor Dr. Ajay Kumar Jha (Multiscope), highlighting key findings and comparative analyses based on national and international energy audit standards.
The event also focused on the revised energy audit guidelines and recent policy developments discussed in Nepal’s constitutional assembly. KhCE expresses its sincere appreciation to WECS for organizing the program and recognizing the college's ongoing efforts in sustainable college development.
