A three-day capacity-building training program organized by Khwopa College of Engineering concluded on Sunday, Jestha 25, 2082. The training was held in collaboration with the University Grants Commission (UGC) to enhance the professional competencies of faculty members and administrative staff.
Speaking at the closing and certificate distribution ceremony, Mr. Sunil Prajapati, Mayor of Bhaktapur Municipality, stated that the colleges under the municipality have played an important role in producing educated and sophisticated citizens. He emphasized the necessity of research-based education and stressed that students should also learn about the political history and geography of Nepal and the world. He further highlighted Bhaktapur Municipality’s efforts to develop all its areas as model zones. Urging educators to inspire the younger generation to contribute to national development, he expressed concern about educators facilitating the outmigration of students and emphasized that such practices should be discouraged.
The Principal of Khwopa Engineering College, Er. Sujan Maka stated that various training and interactive programs help faculty and staff acquire diverse knowledge. He added that the college will continue to organize such training based on the evolving needs of teachers and students. He also shared that Khwopa Engineering College is preparing to introduce 48-seat BCA and BIT programs, and that these capacity-building efforts are essential for delivering contemporary education to the new generation.
Principal of Khwopa College of Engineering, Er. Sunil Duwal shared that 93 participants took part in the training and extended his gratitude to the University Grants Commission for its valuable support. He expressed confidence that the three-day training had been fruitful and assured that such training would continue in the future to enhance institutional capabilities.
Vice Principals Dr. Subegman Bijukchhe and Er. Ratna Shova Prajapati mentioned that the sessions provided both theoretical and practical insights, enabling participants to address challenges encountered in daily office work. College Administration Head Mr. Sanjaya Manandhar also spoke at the event, noting the enthusiasm and engagement shown by all participants.
The three-day training covered sessions on psychological counseling and screening, library training and resource utilization, team building and leadership, conflict resolution, stress management and work-life balance, interpersonal communication, digital tools for teaching and administration, and research fundamentals.
The event concluded with Mayor Prajapati distributing tokens of love and certificates to all participants, reinforcing the commitment of Khwopa College of Engineering and Bhaktapur Municipality to academic excellence and holistic development.
