Khwopa College of Engineering (KhCE) commenced a comprehensive three-day Capacity Development Training on Friday, 23rd Jestha 2082. The training program, supported by the University Grants Commission (UGC), was inaugurated by the Principal of KhCE, Er. Sunil Duwal.

In his opening remarks, Principal Duwal emphasized the critical role of continuous professional development in strengthening institutional performance and academic excellence. He highlighted key components of the training that are designed to build both academic and administrative capacities. The first day of the training focused on Psychological Counseling and Screening Process, with sessions aimed at:

• Raising awareness about the importance of mental health among students,
• Familiarizing faculty and staff with psychological screening tools and procedures,
• Training participants to identify signs of psychological distress and refer students for professional support,
• Strengthening the institutional support system for student mental health.

This was followed by a session on Library Training and Resource Utilization, aimed at enhancing the effective use of physical and digital academic resources by faculty and students. The second day featured sessions on essential soft skills and workplace dynamics, including:

• Team Building, Leadership, and Conflict Resolution,
• Stress Management and Work-Life Balance,
• Interpersonal Relationships and Effective Communication.

These sessions were designed to improve collaboration, enhance leadership capabilities, and promote healthy and productive work environments.

The final day of the training, scheduled for 25th Jestha, will focus on enhancing academic and technological skills. Key sessions will include:

• Digital Tools for Teaching and Administrative Efficiency, which will introduce modern ICT tools to improve classroom engagement and streamline administrative tasks,
• Research Fundamentals, aiming to strengthen the participants’ understanding of research methodologies, proposal writing, and ethical practices in academic research.
