A workshop on Mathematics, focusing on the topic “Coordinate System and Multiple Integral,” was organized on May 22, 2025, by the Department of Science and Humanities in collaboration with the R and D Unit.
Prof. Dr. Raju Bhai Tyata, coordinator of the R and D Unit, delivered an insightful presentation on “Introduction of Coordinate System and Multiple Integral.” He explained the different types of coordinate systems, including cartesian, cylindrical, and spherical coordinates, highlighting their specific structures and applications. He further illustrated how these coordinate systems are used in evaluating multiple integrals, showing how choosing the appropriate system can simplify complex calculations and make problem-solving more efficient in various engineering and scientific contexts. He stressed that mathematics serves as the fundamental building block for all branches of science, providing the essential tools needed to understand and describe natural phenomena. According to him, mathematics not only supports scientific innovation but also drives it, making it indispensable in solving complex real-world problems. He encouraged lecturers to focus on practical applications, problem-solving, and helping students build a strong understanding of concepts through visualization.
Associate Prof. Dr. Phanindra Bhandari also gave a presentation titled “Knowing the Vectors.” He discussed effective strategies for presenting the concept of vectors to Bachelor of Engineering students. He highlighted the incorporating interactive problem-solving techniques to help students develop a deeper understanding of vector concepts and their significance in engineering fields. The session concluded with closing remarks from Mr. Bhesh Bahadur Thapa, Head of the Department of Science and Humanities. He highlighted the interdisciplinary nature of mathematics and stressed that such workshops enhance the practical teaching-learning process.
Mathematics and Physics faculties from both Khwopa College of Engineering and Khwopa Engineering College actively engaged with the presenters during the interactive discussion.
