Faculty from Khwopa College of Engineering (KhCE) made a significant mark at the prestigious International Conference on Non-Linear Analysis and Optimization (ICAN – OPT_ NEPAL 2025), held at Kathmandu University (KU), Dhulikhel, from May 8 to 10, 2025. The three-day academic gathering brought together mathematicians, researchers, and experts from around the world to discuss the latest advancements in non-linear analysis and its wide-ranging applications.
The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Dev Raj Adhikari, Chairman of the University Grant Commission (UGC), and Prof. Dr. Achyut Wagle, Vice Chancellor of KU, in the presence of distinguished scholars and students. Their opening remarks set a collaborative and inspiring tone for the event, emphasizing the importance of intellectual exchange.
Under the leadership of conference chair Prof. Dr. Kanhaiya Jha from the Department of Mathematics, the conference explored a broad array of topics, including non-linear analysis, fixed point theory, operator theory, and optimization theory. The program also highlighted interdisciplinary connections, with sessions spanning from mathematical biology to finance and economics.
The event provided a vibrant platform for the exchange of mathematical knowledge and fostered collaboration across institutions and countries. Young researchers had the opportunity to engage with seasoned scholars, creating an atmosphere of mentorship, innovation, and academic growth. The conference featured 162 abstracts across six fields, 37 invited talks, 10 poster presentations, 27 sessions, and welcomed more than 130 scientists and researchers from 17 countries, making it a grand success.
Representing Khwopa College of Engineering, Mr. Raju Chhukan from the Science and Humanities Department participated actively, contributing to the spirit of academic excellence and international collaboration.
