The Department of Civil Engineering at Khwopa College of Engineering successfully completed the second phase of its 12-day Survey Camp (April 28–May 4, 2025) for 87 fifth-semester BE Civil students at the NEA Training Center in Kharipati. The camp, part of the Institute of Engineering’s curriculum, concentrated on the real-world applications of topographic surveys and road alignment projects, utilizing tools such as total stations and DGPS.
Students engaged in large-scale mapping, traverse plotting, coordinate verification, road alignment tasks (chainage marking, longitudinal/cross-sectional profiles), and contour mapping using traditional and advanced methods. Computational work and detailed plotting honed technical reporting skills.
Instruction Team:
The camp was coordinated by Er. Ramesh Bala (Senior Lecturer) and Er. Sunita Kharbuja (Co-coordinator), supported by instructors Er. Raju Miyan, Er. Nischal Prajapati, Er. Aayusha Bhataju, Er. Riya Shrestha, Er. Shrija Guragain, Er. Gaurav Bhusal, Er. Swornim Aganja, Er. Balkrishna Jha, Er. Bhabuk Bhattarai, Er. Nischal Suwal, and lab assistants Ms. Jaya Prajapati and Ms. Ashmita Awal.
Awardees:
The department acknowledged the NEA Training Center and Administrative Officer, Mr. Hari Siwakoti, for their logistical support. The camp equipped students with critical skills in infrastructure planning and professional surveying, marking a milestone in their academic journey.
