May 21, 2025 — Khwopa College of Engineering’s 3rd and 4th-year Electrical Engineering students gained critical insights into final-year project planning during an expert session led by Er. Sagar Dharel on May 20. Dharel, a Pulchowk Campus alumnus (B.E. Electrical, M.Sc. in Power Systems) and a PhD scholar at Kathmandu University, highlighted global trends and strategic approaches to maximize the impact of academic projects.
Emphasizing the need for alignment with industry demands and personal interests, Dharel urged students to select projects that balance practicality, feasibility, and long-term relevance. He stressed that these projects are not merely academic requirements, but opportunities to hone technical, research, and innovative skills essential for careers, advanced studies, or entrepreneurship.
In a dedicated feedback segment, Dharel reviewed the project proposals of 4th-year groups, offering tailored advice on improvements, success metrics, and timelines. He emphasized the importance of teamwork, advocating for collaborative dynamics that mirror real-world engineering environments. “Effective communication and role division are pivotal,” he noted, discouraging individual efforts in favor of structured group collaboration.
The session, lauded as a practical roadmap, equipped students with clarity and motivation. Attendees left with actionable strategies to transform projects into career-launching endeavors.
