Khwopa College of Engineering, in collaboration with Khwopa Engineering College, successfully conducted an extensive Outreach Program from March 19 to March 24, 2081 (6th Chaitra to 11th Chaitra 2081). This initiative aims to foster educational partnerships, share knowledge, and enhance community engagement. Professor Dr. Raju Bhai Tyata led the outreach program, which included Er. Rakesh Gwachha, Er. Yogesh Bajracharya, and Er. Ramesh Bala. They visited various institutions in Makawanpur, Chitwan, Nawalparasi, Rupandehi, and Lumbini. The program aimed to bridge the gap between academia and society.
The Outreach Program focuses on expanding access to quality education for marginalized communities and strengthening collaborations with local institutions and organizations. The six-day journey included visits to 26 institutions, including technical schools, colleges, and universities. Faculty members discussed academic improvements with educational leaders, exchanged ideas, and explored potential collaborations.
The institutions visited include Nepal Bharat Polytechnic Institute (Hetauda), Janapriya Higher Secondary School (Hetauda), Narayani Polytechnic Institute (Bharatpur), Korea Nepal Polytechnic Institute (Butwal), Kalika Manabgyan Secondary School, and several +2 Science Colleges and Technical Schools.
During the program, participants engaged in meaningful conversations with principals, coordinators, and administrative leaders to enhance student enrollment in higher education. Collaboration fosters the development of sustainable academic partnerships. The visit also explored various strategies for strengthening technical education and examined innovative approaches to community-university engagement.
The Outreach Program was a success, strengthening institutional relationships and fostering new opportunities for student exchange and faculty collaboration. This enabled us to identify key challenges in student enrollment and academic quality, paving the way for solution-driven approaches. It also emphasized the necessity of regular outreach initiatives to maintain strong academic-community ties.
Through this exposure to the community and academia, Khwopa College of Engineering and Khwopa Engineering college remain dedicated to improving educational equity and fostering collaboration. Future programs will prioritize expanding outreach efforts to additional regions and enhancing technical education offerings through long-term partnerships for academic and professional development.
