Khwopa College of Engineering (KhCE) and Jade Consult Pvt. Ltd. have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a collaborative framework to enhance research, training, and professional development opportunities for students and faculty. The signing ceremony took place on 26th Falgun, 2081 (March 10, 2025), at the offices of Jade Consult Pvt. Ltd. in Babarmahal, Kathmandu.

Jade Consult Pvt. Ltd., established in 2001, is a leading engineering consulting firm specializing in hydropower, transmission lines, roads, water resources, and irrigation. With over two hundred professionals, it offers design, construction supervision, and environmental assessments, expanding its expertise to Nepal, Bhutan, and India. The three-year MoU between Jade and KhCE focuses on academic-industry collaboration, including research, internships, exposure visits, data sharing, and joint projects. This partnership aims to enhance academic and professional growth, foster innovation, and promote sustainable infrastructure development through training programs, technical assistance, and capacity-building initiatives like seminars and workshops.

Er. Rakesh Gwachha, Head of the Electrical Department at KhCE, emphasized the MoU’s significance, stating it will provide students and faculty with research opportunities and practical engineering experience. Mr. Binod Ghimire, Sr. General Manager of Jade Consult, expressed enthusiasm for bridging academia and industry to foster innovation and sustainable development in Nepal.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by key representatives from both institutions. From KhCE, attendees included Er. Rakesh Gwachha (Head of the Department), Mr. Sanjay Manandhar (Head of Administration), Er. Gaurab Tamrakar (Deputy Head of the Department), and Er. Bidur Bhusal (KhCE alumnus). From Jade Consult Pvt. Ltd., attendees included Mr. Binod Ghimire (Senior General Manager), Er. Sumendra Lal Mool (General Manager), and Er. Ganesh Bahadur Shahi (General Manager).
