Marking the 23rd anniversary of Khwopa Engineering College and the 16th anniversary of Khwopa College of Engineering, the much-anticipated Inter-College T20 Cricket Tournament 2081 was inaugurated on Wednesday, 28th Kartik, 2081, at the Mulpani Cricket Ground in Kathmandu. , alongside a vibrant display of unity and sportsmanship.

The tournament began with a ceremonial handover of sports equipment to referee Dharma Shakya, by Principals Er. Sujan Maka and Er. Sunil Duwal. Er. Sujan Maka, Principal of Khwopa Engineering College, highlighted the transformative role of sports in building friendship, discipline, perseverance, and health. He acknowledged the impact of national and international players in bringing recognition to the country. Er. Sunil Duwal, Principal of Khwopa College of Engineering, expressed pride in hosting the first-ever T20 tournament organized by the colleges. He emphasized that the primary goal should not be victory or defeat but fostering harmony and brotherhood among participants.

Other speakers, including Vice-Principals Dr. Subegman Bijukchhe and Er. Ratnashova Prajapati, and Library Officer Bishnu Prasad Karmacharya, also shared their thoughts, applauding the initiative and the values it instills in students.

In the first round of matches, Khwopa Secondary School triumphed over Khwopa Engineering College, while Khwopa College of Engineering secured a victory against Khwopa College. The competition culminated in an exciting finale where Khwopa College of Engineering emerged as the champion. Khwopa Secondary School claimed the position of 1st Runner-Up, followed by Khwopa Engineering College as the 2nd Runner-Up, and Khwopa College as the 3rd Runner-Up, rounding off an unforgettable tournament.
