The Honorable Minister of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation, Mr. Balram Adhikari, along with his team, was warmly welcomed to Khwopa College of Engineering during an on-site inspection of 108 ropanis of land located in Sallaghari, Bhaktapur Ward No. 1 on 1st Ashoj, 2081. This land has been requested for the acquisition for Khwopa University.
The Honorable Minister and his delegation were greeted by Er. Sujan Maka, Principal of Khwopa Engineering College, and Er. Sunil Duwal, Principal of Khwopa College of Engineering. Following the site visit, a welcome program was held in the college hall, during which Minister Adhikari expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to visit the model colleges and hospitals operated by Bhaktapur Municipality. He commended the municipality’s initiative to establish Khwopa University, recognizing the importance of its aim.
The minister further praised Bhaktapur Municipality for its construction of essential physical infrastructure and effective manpower management for the future university. He expressed confidence that Khwopa University would soon receive affiliation.
In his address, Sunil Prajapati, Chairman of the College Management Committee and Mayor of Bhaktapur Municipality, emphasized the municipality's focus on building the necessary infrastructure for the operation of Khwopa University. Drawing inspiration from socialist countries, Mr. Prajapati highlighted Bhaktapur Municipality’s commitment to socialist-oriented activities, including the operation of educational institutions across various disciplines, aimed at making a significant contribution to the nation's educational sector.
During the event, Principal Er. Sujan Maka presented an overview of the academic and extracurricular activities of both Khwopa Engineering College and Khwopa College of Engineering. Additionally, Principal Er. Sunil Duwal handed over the college’s publications to the Honorable Minister and his team.

Rajani Joshi, Vice Chairman of the College Management Committee and Deputy Head of Bhaktapur Municipality; Chief Administrative Officer Basant Bhattarai; Ward No. 1 Chairman Mr. Shyam Krishna Khatri; Ward No. 9 Chairman Mr. Rabindra Jyakhwa; Ward No. 8 Chairman Mr. Krishna Prasad Koju; and Ms, Yonjen Sherpa, a member of the Nepal Trust Board of Directors.
