Er. Dhurba Karki and Er. Gaurav Tamrakar from Khwopa College of Engineering actively participated in a two-day workshop on "Industrial Automation: PLC and HMI," held on September 11-12, 2024, at Kantipur Engineering College's Automation Laboratory. Their involvement provided them with both theoretical insights and practical experience in advanced automation technologies.
The workshop featured a comprehensive schedule, starting with an overview of industrial automation and then practical sessions on PLC programming and HMI design. Key topics included switchgears, Siemens TIA Portal, and practical applications such as latching circuits and automated tank filling systems. Participants worked on real-world projects, learning to implement automation systems using PLCs and designing user-friendly operator interfaces through HMI software like DOP Soft. During the practical sessions, the participants worked on real-world automation projects, including switchgear configurations, automated tank filling systems, and the implementation of a Star-Delta motor driver control. Er. Bishal Rimal, Automation Laboratory Associate at KEC and Er. Krishna Chaudhari facilitated the training successfully.
Their participation in this workshop not only enhanced their technical skills but also allowed them to explore innovative applications of industrial automation, which can contribute significantly to their ongoing work at Khwopa College of Engineering.
