The Department of Electrical Engineering held a 10 hours course on "Training on DIgSILENT Power Factory" from 1st September – 4th September 2024 (16th to 19th Bhadra, 2081), which covered fundamentals of the DIgSILENT Power Factory Software regarding its application on the power system analysis problems. Faculty members from the electrical department of Khwopa College of Engineering participated in the training. The main goal of the training was to emphasize the application of DIgSILENT Power Factory Software and comprehensive analysis tools regarding load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, and dynamic simulation of the power system. Through DIgSILENT Simulation Language (DSL), DIgSILENT Programming Language (DPL), and Composite model, the analysis and modeling were performed. The program was facilitated by Er. Rupesh Gautam, DHoD, Electrical Engineering Department, and Er. Tanus Bikram Malla provided insights on the software and theoretical foundation of steady-state analysis and dynamic simulation. The program provided a broad overview of several engineering topics relevant to power system studies and an excellent opportunity to interact with faculty. The program was a complete success and ended with significant support for broadening the scope of research endeavors.
