Khwopa College of Engineering held an Award and Certificate Distribution Ceremony on August 11, 2024, to acknowledge students who completed the non-credit courses on Data Science and Deep Learning with Python. The event was held in Hall 3 and was attended by Principal Er. Sunil Duwal as the Chief Guest, along with Vice Principal Er. Ratna Shova Prajapati. Other notable attendees included Er. Dinesh Gothe, Head of the Department, Er. Naresh Khatri, Deputy Head of the Department, and Er. Ayush Adhikari from DeepMind Creations is a key collaborator in these courses.
The ceremony commenced with opening remarks by Er. Dinesh Gothe, who underscored the significance of these courses in equipping students for the rapidly evolving fields of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. Students Basanta Pokharel and Arun Kumar Shrestha then took the stage, sharing their enriching experiences and the valuable knowledge and skills they gained. Er. Ayush Adhikari also addressed the audience, highlighting the pivotal role of Artificial Intelligence in modern education and the successful collaboration between Khwopa College and DeepMind Creations.
Top performers were recognized for their achievements in three competitions during the award distribution. Srijan Gyawali won first place in the Image Classification competition, Adish Prajapati and Kusan Khambu in second place, and Simal Sakha in third. In the House Price Prediction competition, Roheet Basukala took first place, with Kishor Timilsena and Aashish Khatri securing second and third positions, respectively. The Wine Quality Classification competition saw Sulav Sapkota emerge as the winner, with Tuyal Shrestha and Pragun Bhandari finishing in second and third place.
The event concluded with a motivational speech by Principal Er. Sunil Duwal encouraged the students to continue striving for excellence in their academic and professional pursuits. The ceremony ended with the distribution of certificates to the participants, marking a successful celebration of their hard work and achievements.
