On 10th Shrawan 2081, as the civil engineering site, is a place where learning and fun collide, the Civil Department organized one-day educational field visit for the civil engineering students of the second year that served as a hands-on extension of the “Civil Engineering Material” course. The event was conducted by the faculty members Er. Sunita Kharbuja, Er. Upu Rasiya Lasiwa, Er. Radhika Kharbuja, Er. Nischal Prajapati and Er. Ayusha Bhataju.
On the day, students embarked on discovery to deepen their understanding of the fundamental materials that underpin the world of civil engineering. This helped students get the chance to enter the visualization world of the manufacturing process of the material.
The destination was firstly the manufacturing factory of Bricks, i.e., Gorkha Red Bricks, located at Basdol, Panauti, and secondly, the manufacturing factory of plywood, i.e., Ambika Plywood Udhyog, located at Shreekhanda Marga, Banepa. These manufacturing companies helped students explore the theoretical knowledge studied in the course “Civil Engineering Material.” This visit aimed to provide the students with an immersive and real-world perspective on the manufacturing process of civil engineering materials used for the manufacturing process.
The educational visit to the company was started with a warm welcome by the hosts, Production Manager Mr. Raji Koju, Electrical Incharge Mr. Manoj Dhakal from Gorkha Red Bricks, and Manager Mr. Sagar Ghimire from Ambika Plywood Udhyog, who provided an insightful orientation that was about to explore and students also actively participated in discuss with industry experts which bridged the gap between theory and practice and allowed to witness the real world of the materials and more techniques than they had learned in the classroom.
