The Mayor of Bhaktapur Municipality and Chairman of the College Management Committee, Mr. Sunil Prajapati, said that teaching staff should be honest in heart, word, and deed and focused that they should work selflessly and disciplined according to the needs of the college.
While speaking at a gathering of the newly appointed teachers and staff of Khwopa College of Engineering on Thursday, 11 Jestha, 2080, he discussed the fact that while working, there will be many obstacles and disruptions, so wanting to do well is not enough for good doing. He also expressed confidence that Khwopa University would be approved soon.
He said even though 99 percent of the teachers working in the institution are good with only 1 percent being bad night cause serious harm to the institution. He elaborated with an example that even a drop of poison can destroy hundreds of liters of milk. Further, he said that the statement of Com. Rohit, "Singhdarbar is surrounded by cheaters," was further supported by the fact that Nepalese were made Bhutanese refugees; he said that it is unfortunate that the people who should be in jail are in Singhadarwar.
Everything said by intellectuals might not be right, but the right thing is right no matter who says it. The teachers and professors should emphasize new research and studies. He said that it is the leader’s idea and people's wish and support that has led the municipality to run the Khwopa institutions, including engineering colleges and Khwopa Hospital.
He stated that the working style of the organizations run by Bhaktapur municipality and the municipality itself is being observed on the ground and our work is being appreciated across the country today; thus, he motivated the teachers and staff to work for the sake of service rather than personal interest.
In the program, the principal of Khwopa Engineering College, Er. Sujan Maka, the principal of Khwopa College of Engineering, Er. Sunil Duwal elaborated on duties and responsibilities as a member of Khwopa including the rightful attitude and practices that enhances the overall teaching-learning environment as well as to make the students responsible citizens. The head of administration, Mr. Sanjay Manandhar, welcomed the newly appointed teachers and staff and discussed how they can make an incomparable contribution to achieving the objectives of the college.
