25th July 2024, an educational field visit was organized for the BCT 2077 batch of Khwopa College of Engineering's Department of Computer and Electronics Engineering to the Information System Support Directorate (ISSD) in Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, Nepal. The visit aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in the fields of computer networks and data communication.
A total of 43 students participated, accompanied by faculty members Er. Naresh Khatri, Er. Subhadra Joshi, Er. Ekata Niraula, and Er. Sanyukta Ligal. The students received a warm welcome from senior engineers of Nepal Telecom, including Er. Rabin Kasula, Er. Ajay Bhattarai, and Er. Pratap Chandra Poudel, who provided invaluable guidance throughout the visit.
Er. Rabin Kasula delivered an insightful presentation covering the fundamentals of computer networks and data communication, with a focus on network topologies, protocols, and data transmission methods. Following the presentation, students were divided into four groups to observe the NTC server facilities, where they gained practical insights into server room operations, network infrastructure, and maintenance.
Interactive sessions allowed students to ask questions and discuss network security measures, troubleshooting, and future trends with the engineers. The visit concluded with DHOD Er. Khatri expressing gratitude and presenting tokens of appreciation to the senior engineers. This enriching experience significantly enhanced the students' understanding of real-world applications in the telecommunications industry.
